Everything you need to know about memberships, lessons, and training at The Mound — and if your answer isn’t below, the contact form is at the bottom of this page.
Memberships & Billing
Does the membership come with personal training?
No. Membership gives athletes a space to train on their own — hitting, pitching, throwing, fielding, weight training, agility work, and more. We’ll be there to offer pointers, drill ideas, and encouragement along the way.
We also run camps and cohorts that members get access to, so they can keep building skills and knowledge they can apply on their own.
How do I sign up for a membership?
Head to our membership page to secure your desired tier. We’ve done the math for you — just estimate how many hours per week you’d want to use our cages, then click secure membership and check out.
Memberships are limited to 50 spots so members always have ample time to use our cages.
Can I have my son and daughter on the same membership?
No — each athlete needs their own membership. We do offer a discounted membership for families with more than one athlete needing cage time.
Is there a membership discount for multiple athletes in the same family?
Yes! We offer a discount on a second child’s membership. Message us on Facebook and we’ll send you a direct link.
How do I cancel my membership? Can I rejoin later?
- Cancel anytime with 30 days’ written notice, submitted in person at our facility. Your membership bills monthly and stays active through the paid-through date.
- When you cancel, your spot is released. Re-enrollment isn’t guaranteed — if we’re at capacity, you’ll be added to the waitlist in the order received.
- Returning members rejoin at the then-current rates; prior pricing isn’t held.
Do unused hours roll over into the next billing cycle?
No. Unused hours do not roll over. All hours must be used within the current billing cycle, since they reset at the start of each pay cycle.
Can I buy extra time if my hours run out before my billing cycle ends?
Yes. If you use up your allotted hours, you can purchase additional time at $40 per hour, charged at booking — so you can keep training without waiting for your next billing cycle.
Booking & Cage Time
What is the late cancel / no-show policy for reserved cage time?
Cancel at least 12 hours before your scheduled cage time to keep your hours. If you cancel less than 12 hours before, or no-show, that time credit is forfeited.
What cage should I book to use the pitching machine, and can a parent help in the cage?
Cage 2 has a baseball pitching machine. Cage 3 has a softball pitching machine.
Yes — anyone under 16 must be supervised by an adult/parent/guardian. Adults are welcome and encouraged to help in the cage, feed the pitching machine, roll grounders for fielding, and more.
Can I come with another member or a non-member to get reps in together?
Yes! As long as both individuals have active memberships, you’re welcome to share a cage (up to 4 people at a time). Each member’s time is still tracked individually, even when sharing a session — it’s a great way to train together and build community.
A non-member can come along, but would pay the walk-in fee.
How can I sign my softball pitcher up for lessons?
Reach out via Facebook Messenger — either The Mound Training Facility page or Lainie Marie directly. Interested athletes are added to a list, and we reach out as availability opens up on the lesson schedule.
Rules, Safety & Hours
What gear do I need to bring of my own?
You’ll need to bring your own personal gear, including:
- Helmet
- Bat
- Batting gloves
- Fielding glove
- Any other personal protective equipment you typically use (fielding mask, etc.)
We provide balls, pitching machines, mats, tees, and training equipment — personal gear is your responsibility.
Do I have to sign a waiver?
Yes. Every participant must sign our liability waiver before entering. Any guardian, friend, or coach who is throwing or assisting must sign one too — this keeps every member and guest safe and informed.
Can I wear spikes or cleats?
Are minors allowed to use the facility?
Yes — minors are welcome, but must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times while on the premises. The adult signer takes full responsibility, and guardians are encouraged to help train their athlete in the cage.
Are teams allowed to use the facility?
Yes. Teams need to be under a membership contract to use the facility, since we can’t accommodate team walk-ins. Teams have a designated window on Sundays only, keeping the rest of the week open for individual membership holders.
Am I considered a member if my team practices at the facility?
No — practicing with your team at The Mound doesn’t make you a member. To use our cages outside of scheduled team practice times, you’ll need your own membership, which includes a set number of hours per month for individual use.
Is The Mound open on holidays?
We close around major holidays. On days athletes are typically off school — MLK Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Columbus Day, and Veterans Day — we’ll be open. Any schedule changes are posted on our social media, so check there for updates.
